KIMAX conical-shaped  bottle offering greater stability. Used in the determination of specific  gravity for a large variety of semi-solid materials and emulsions, such as  road oils, road tars, soft tar pitches, and asphalt cements (ASTM D70);  drying oils, varnishes, resins, and related materials (ASTM D1963); water and  brine (ASTM D1429); and insulating varnishes (ASTM D115). Short length  stopper is conical on the underside and has a hole approximately 1.6 mm in  diameter to allow air to escape.

Specific Gravity Bottle, Serialized  Pycnometer

用途：測量不同液體在某一溫度下相對于同溫度水的比重。

簡介：15123R

KIMAX bottle is supplied with a special  medium length 10/18 thermometer  with a range of 14 to 38 degrees C in 0.2 degrees. Retested for accuracy  within ± 0.2 degrees C. Cap for the side tube is medium length 5/12 and has a  small vent near the top. Body is conical for maximum stability, and capacity  is within 10 percent of nominal on the flask. Each flask body is numbered for  ready identification. The 50 mL size is used to obtain the specific gravity  of pigments (ASTM D153).

測量比重步驟：

Thoroughly clean, dry, assemble, and  weigh the empty pycnometer and record.

Fill with recently boiled, distilled  water at a temperature a degree or two below the determination temperature.

Insert thermometer into the bottle,  forcing water through the overflow tube.

Place in a constant temperature bath and  when the desired temperature is reached, wipe off excess water from the  overflow tube tip and cap.

Remove from bath, wipe dry, reweigh and  record.

Weight difference is that of the water in  the flask - the volume of the pycnometer may be calculated.

Repeat process with liquid of an unknown  specific gravity and record the weight difference.

KIMAX bottle used in the determination of  the specific gravity of cement, sand, and other fine materials (ASTM C188).  Designed for a 64 gram sample. Body holds approximately 250 mL, and the  smaller neck bulb holds 17 mL. The neck bulb, the neck is graduated from 0 to  1.0 mL and has two extra 0.1 mL lines both 1.0 mL and 0.0 mL. The neck bulb,  the neck is graduated from 18 to 24 mL in 0.1 mL subdivisions. All markings  are durable white enamel. Supplied with serial number. Designed from ASTM  Specification E694 and complies with C188. Replacement stopper is 41900R.
